Mr. Washburn was born in
Washington and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Daniel received his baccalaureate
degree in political science from Arizona State University in 1996. That same
year he married his sweetheart Michelle.

In 1998 Daniel began law school.
Daniel completed his law school curriculum in two years (instead of the
typical three years). He then relocated his family to Missouri where he
attended the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law in order to
work on an advanced law degree called a Master of Laws (LL.M.), which only a
small percentage of lawyers have obtained. In 2001, after graduating from
this program, Daniel returned to establish his home in Arizona and that
same year was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona.
Prior to practicing law in Arizona, Daniel clerked for a district court in Kansas where he took part in drafting legal opinions for the court (both criminal and civil). In 2001, Daniel began working for a Mesa law firm. In January of 2005, he established the Washburn Law Firm plc focusing on civil matters. Daniel has represented clients in court on a variety of issues ranging from business and real estate contract disputes to probate and trust controversies.
Daniel is a
published attorney. He has written several articles that were
published and cited in nationally published law journals and legal manuals
used by practicing attorneys. He instructs other lawyers about various
areas of law. Daniel is also a teacher at a local college where he
provides instruction on various legal topics.
Daniels's knowledge and dedication to the practice of law, as well as his commitment to the needs of his clients, is enhanced by meeting his responsibilities as a husband and parent. The proud father of three children, Daniel is devoted to his family while participating in community and church service projects. He is a licensed foster parent and has also had the opportunity to participate in foster care review board hearings within Pinal County.
As an instructor at Mesa Community College, Mr. Washburn teaches courses on trusts and landlord-tenant law. He is a member of the Arizona Management Society, Arthritis Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee and Arizona State Bar’s Business Law and Tax sections. Daniel is also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America (as well as an Eagle Scout himself) where he regularly provides counsel and guidance to Boy Scouts in his community.
